The CBPC explores new business opportunities for international broadcasts of the Caribbean Series

Jun 23, 2023

As of this June 23, the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) begins a market exploration process in search of a new commercial partner for the distribution and sale of the signal of the international media rights of the Caribbean Series.

Setting the goal of July 20 to find a new commercial partner for the distribution of the rights of its main product, the CBPC will begin from next June 26 the process of wide and open search for its new commercial partner, installing for it a digital access from its official platform seriedelcaribe.net to receive applicants who request the corresponding RFP (Acronym in English for Request for Proposal).

The Caribbean Series is the greatest baseball show in the region and is currently in its full growth, proof of this is the great interest of more countries to join the contest, only in the most recent edition, played in Gran Caracas, Venezuela, was the first with 8 teams and the dispute of 32 games and attracted a total of 329,552 fans.

Proof of the growth of the Caribbean Series is that nearly 90 international media have been present in recent editions, as well as 15 networks, with a high-quality television signal that has reached many more countries, beyond the participants; Added to this is a sustained increase in the presence of commercial brands, as well as the number of followers and subscribers on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,  and TikTok.

The upcoming Caribbean Series Miami 2024 is presented as a "before and after" of this event from every point of view, it is the first time that an MLB organization, in this case the Miami Marlins, is in charge of organizing the event, and putting at their disposal a stage like the LoanDepot Park, which will become "Everyone's home", remembering that in the city of Miami more than 70% of the population is Latino.

One of the novelties will be the presence for the first time of a country with a great baseball tradition such as Nicaragua, which joins Curaçao, which will do so for the second time, and the member countries of the Confederation Venezuela, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Mexico, without ruling out other possible incorporations that could also be announced before July 20, 2023.
